Rolling Valley Elementary proudly announces that Mrs. Shannon Gilmore, a third-grade teacher, has been nominated as our Outstanding New Teacher.

Mrs. Gilmore’s journey into teaching is truly inspiring. As a career switcher, she began at Rolling Valley as an instructional assistant in the special education department, quickly becoming indispensable with her dedication and positivity. Just over two years ago, she transitioned to full-time teaching while pursuing her certification, balancing rigorous coursework and classroom responsibilities with tireless commitment.

Known for her early mornings, late nights, and exceptional preparation, Mrs. Gilmore is deeply invested in her students’ success. A tech innovator, she creates tools to track data and improve learning outcomes while sharing her expertise with colleagues. Her classroom is a dynamic and inclusive space, filled with engaging resources, including translations for multilingual learners.

Beyond teaching, Mrs. Gilmore uplifts her team with her kindness and thoughtfulness, often leaving notes or small gifts to brighten her colleagues’ days. Her humility, generosity, and passion make her an incredible educator and role model.
